On July 10, 2013, JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd. (Shanghai, China) announced that it has supplied 304 kilowatt (kW) solar photovoltaic (PV) modules to Soventix GmbH for a roof-mounted solar project in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The solar plant will be equipped with over 1,200 high-efficient JinkoSolar modules and will produce about 443,840 kilowatt (kWh) of electricity per year. It will save emission by nearly 72 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually.

JinkoSolar Chief Marketing Officer Chief Marketing Officer Arturo Herrero stated: “We are very happy to build a strong partnership with Soventix GmbH to supply and construct this paradigmatic roof-mounted PV plant in South Africa.”

Herrero added: “South Africa is one of our key markets where we have already achieved around 300 MW in contracts with our partners for the 1st and 2nd rounds of the public tenders and we expect to strengthen our position from current and future opportunities in the coming 3rd round of public tenders.”
