IGEM partners with GES in 2013 Summit & Exhibition Showcase to Advance Global Entrepreneurship

Kuala Lumpur, 5 August 2013 - The 4th International GreenTech & Eco-Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2013) is set to raise the bar with its latest instalment by partnering with the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) to create a synergistic platform for industry professionals, academics, entrepreneurs and policy makers to explore opportunities and drive sustainable growth in the emerging green market.

IGEM 2013, recognised as the region’s largest exhibition on green technology and eco products, aims to be the catalyst for entrepreneurs to forge new business alliances and smart partnerships, simultaneously providing a springboard into new markets in the regional and global context. Themed “Advancing Green Growth and Global Entrepreneurship”, IGEM 2013 will be a one-stop centre for visitors looking to gain direct access to world-class green technology innovators and business leaders as well as the latest and most advanced offerings of eco products and services in the global marketplace.

IGEM 2013 will take place on 10-13 October at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the first three days reserved for trade visitors – industry professionals and business visitors will be given access by invitation or business-card registration only – thus paving the way for visitors to engage with key industry players, experts and decision makers from both the public and private sectors on a more personal level. The historic exhibition-and-conference  combination should provide visitors useful insights into global market trends and current notions of businesses concerned with sustainable development.
The IGEM series has a proven track record as a platform for industry players to converge; IGEM 2012 was a resounding success with participation by over 600 exhibitors from 24 countries, pulling in 61,681 visitors from 61 countries and generating a reported estimate of MYR 1.3 million in business transactions and leads. This year, the figure is expected to rise to MYR 1.2 billion.

The exhibition will be held in conjunction with the 4th Global Entrepreneurship Summit which takes place on 11-12 October at the same venue. The Summit, themed “Empowering and Connecting Entrepreneurs”, will convene global stakeholders from throughout the entrepreneurship ecosystem to share ideas and best practices and develop solutions for some of the most intractable issues that prevent the growth of entrepreneurship and businesses.

IGEM 2013 is consciously reaching out to trade visitors this year with continuous efforts to draw international buyers and sellers. The exhibitors, event highlights and ancillary activities are targeted at an audience of key green economy stakeholders including academics, investors, manufacturers, business owners, and regulators, as well as the wider network of international policy makers, economists, media, environmental groups and sustainable communities.
The exhibition will be organised along six thematic sectors: Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, Water and Waste Management, Green Transportation and Logistics, Eco Products and Services, Green Building and Interiors, and Green ICT. Visitors will also be treated to various unique, value-added offerings throughout the exhibition period, including:

Green Insights Seminars and Workshops
11 am–5 pm, Exhibition Hall, Ground Floor, KL Convention Centre
The Green Insights workshops at IGEM2013 feature experts from all over the world who will provide green entrepreneurs valuable inside knowledge on sustainable practices that can be adopted across the board, from consumers to corporate bodies, organisations and governments.

One-to-one Business Matching Programs
Potential buyers or agents will be matched with the host companies they would like to explore business opportunities with by pre-registering their interest on the IGEM website.
