Gunar Hering is new Chief Financial Officer at ENERTRAG

Dauerthal, Germany, 11. August 2014. Starting this November, 42-year-old Dr Gunar Hering will be responsible for Finance and Project Development.  As a physicist with extensive experience in advising energy companies, equipment manufacturers and government organisations on renewable energy, he brings along considerable knowledge, wide experience and a large network. Most recently, he worked as a global expert for renewable energies at The Boston Consulting Group.

Once again the ENERTRAG Executive Board consists of three members:  Jörg Müller continues to be responsible for Strategy and Energy Policy as well as Matthias König for Construction, Plant Operation, Service and Energy Trading. Gunar Hering takes on the responsiblility for Finances and Project Development. Thus, ENERTRAG will tackle Germany’s energy transition – the Energiewende 2.0 – with full force.

“The second phase of the energy transition that is just beginning now requires considerable professionalization and excellence”, as Jörg Müller explains. “We are now moving away from simple grid feed-in towards the establishment of a secure, demand-based supply of renewable electricity. We are very well positioned in this regard and want to continue growing with our hybrid power plant, wind gas production, large own generation fleet, 24/7 control centre, our excellent contacts with our partners, the public utilities, and a variety of new projects.”

With regards to the upcoming challenges and prospects for ENERTRAG, Gunar Hering adds: “For its future growth, ENERTRAG continues to rely on onshore wind as a proven and the most cost efficient renewable technology The development of decentralised energy plants can only succeed in close cooperation with local public participation, local authorities, and municipalities. Moreover, it will be key for ENERTRAG to explore new funding and partnership options.”
